Flower meadows

I have made this set of cards for my mother to give to a friend. The friend is pretty much housebound so this is a nice gift as she can't choose cards for herself. The brief was 'she likes pretty'.
All the cards are different but I used the same inks so they match as a set.
I stamped the flowers on squares of card (snippets), rounded the corners and then inked round the edges with a silver Sharpie. I mounted each one on a square card and then decorated with a toning ribbon (all snippets). I added sentiments (snippets) on two but left two blank for any other occasion.

Finally I made a little box to hold them all from a snippet and added another snippet of ribbon to decorate. The box looks better in real life though is not perfect.

I made a set of cards at Christmas when I wanted a present for someone which was easy to post. She did appreciate them.
This style of card is exactly why I started stamping and I still like the look very much. Though I am happy to say I have broadened my horizons and been challenged into new styles and ideas these past couple of years mainly due to all the blogs and challenges that I spend far too much time cooing over.
So as you probably guessed I'm heading over to Pixie's Snippets Playground with these.

  1. Oh Alison, these really are so pretty - and what a lovely, caring thought as well. I love the delicacy as well as the wonderful little strips of ribbon and bows to set of those delightfully stamped backgrounds!

Thank you so much for coming to play in the Snippets Playground again!
