More green and pink

 Hello lovely crafters,

It seems I can only use green and pink just now. I will try something different next.

There were a lot of changes with this design. The gingham was going to be on the inside, then the outside then both. The flower was at the top and butterfly at the bottom. Large butterfly, small butterfly, die cut words... If I was starting again I'd do things differently but never mind that now.

I've embossed the outlines of the flowers with gold and then coloured with inks and brushes (lovely soft brushes won in The Playground. Love them and use them at every opportunity 😊).

I followed Mrs A's instructions to make the gap card and cut my stamped Gingham paper to cover the front and used the 'gap' piece on the inside. I also used the die cut words on the inside in the end.

All the stamps are Inky Doodles including the gingham stamp. I can't resist them.

I'm entering this in Mrs A's Butterfly Challenge:

I've used a butterfly, pink gingham stamping, Gap card design, Geranium (pink) and Granny Smith (green) inks and gold embossing.

I'll also hop over to Pixie's Snippets Playground as I've used snippets, of course, for all the flowers and die cuts.

Thank you for visiting, enjoy your day. x

  1. What a lovely card Alison! You chose the design cut that loots the trickier one to me - it's a lovely result. And hooray for snippets!

  2. Great card and good for both challenges. The gap card was quite a fun one to try wasn't it.

  3. Me again Alison! You're so right about the Playmates. I feel as if I know each one of you lovely girlies personally (even if I mix up the names at times!!) I truly feel blessed to have you all enriching my life - and that is a major driver in me keeping the Playground alive for as long as I can lift a stamp, a die, a Pro marker - and even a finger to the keyboard here!

    Much love

  5. I love , love this card. I was so sure you were going to say these were Julie Hickey stamps . They are so much her style so now I need to go and investigate this company especially as the gingham paper is also a stamp.! Thankyou for coming and playing along in the first butterfly challenge of the year.

  6. Wow, wow, WOW. This is all kinds of gorgeous! I love the fresh spring colours and it's a perfect example of a gap card. I'm still struggling with mine!
