Make it simple

Hello lovely crafters.  Our challenge for you this week  at  52 Christmas Card Throwdown is a colour challenge.

I went round in circles, confused and lacking inspiration and eventually remembered that it is best to keep things simple when you are short of ideas.

If you are not sure about a colour challenge choose the colour you are most comfortable with and start with that.
That is not what I did here but it turned out ok in the end!

I can't tell you where the red twine came from.
Oh, alright then, I know I am among friends and you are all as daft as I am.
It is the loopy stitching from a bag of chicken feed! Don't tell me you wouldn't have saved it too.

Do join in with our challenge and get ahead with those Christmas cards. We had several new players last week who have resolved to do just that and were very pleased with themselves.

I'm popping over to Pixie's Snippets Challenge to show Di and Parsnip, as this is all made from snippets.

  1. I love you card, can I ask which snowflake cutting die you used as it's so effective?
When I have any odd shaped leftovers of mirri card I die cut snowflakes and keep them in a
little box to hand, sometimes a snowflake is all you need in a corner to finish a card.

    1. Hi everyone and thank you for your kind comments. I was lazy and didn't list any supplies - apart from the chicken feed twine!
This die is one of a set of 4 from ebay. It is quite unusual as the centre comes out as a whole extra snowflake which can be used on its own or popped back in. The one I used here (http://cranberryandeggplant.blogspot.co.uk/2017/11/pixies-snippets-playground-guest.html) is also part of the set.
The dies are ridiculously cheap but do take a few weeks to arrive from China. After ordering mine I saw some very similar from a well known brand, I don't remember which now, so these are obviously copied. I'll leave you to draw your own conclusions about the ethics of that.

  2. Love this card Alison - and, like Anne, I would love to know more about the fabulous snowflake die. The twine is a perfect finishing touch! Who would have guessed - not me for sure!
