Stripes

Morning lovely crafters,
I needed a card for a young man. Always tricky for me but the Less is More challenge of Stripes seemed like a good place to start.

For this card I cut a rectangle in a piece of paper and sponged ink through to create the stripes. Then I spritzed with water and watched the ink spreading. I'd used mixed media paper so it worked beautifully.
Also interesting as I didn't add any green ink, only teal.
The challenge is also One Layer which was fine except for the fact that the paper is slightly warped even after ironing.
It almost looks like a birthday cake with candles...

Golden snowflakes

Hello lovely crafters,
How is everyone? I hope you are enjoying your summer.

Our challenge for you this week at 52CCT is to use stickers.

I remembered that I had this in my stash.

It something I salvaged from work a while back. We've used the stickers but there was a good bit of sticky gold left around the edge. Don't tell me you would have thrown it away...
I used it to cut out snowflakes and then arranged them on my card. A bit of embossing, some gems and it was done.
I like the contrast of the kraft and red. What do you think?
Thanks for visiting, enjoy your day. x

I'm hopping over to Pixie's Snippets Playground with this as I've used snippets.
Crafty Hazelnuts Christmas Challenge. #396 Crafty Hazelnut has now been blogging for 11 years and has very generous blog candy available to win.

Christmas trees all in a row

Hello lovely crafters
Welcome to another week at 52CCT. Our challenge this week is:

We are no strangers to the non-traditional here. Sometimes our colour challenges raise eyebrows but our brilliant players always come up with fantastic cards.

In spite of owning a huge number of stamps and quite a few dies, I freestyled here and cut out the trees by hand. I chose a few papers without too much thought and then lined up all the trees. That was probably the hardest part as I like things to be straight.

I think this picture is more like the real colours.
Thanks for visiting, enjoy your day. x

Black and Gold

Hello lovely crafters,

We have a new colour challenge at 52CCT this week:

These colours say 'elegance' to me and I think I achieved that. My card turned out very simple but perhaps there is no need for all the complications!

I just embossed in gold and then coloured the berries with a gold crayon. I added the ribbon as there seemed to be a gap at the bottom. Thanks Myrna for scrummy colours. I'm sure they will be popular.
Thanks for visiting and Enjoy Your Day. x

Butterfly flutterby

Hello lovely crafters.
I've been driven inside by the heat in the middle of the day so I made a card or two.

I made this with Mrs A's butterfly challenge in mind.
This time it it the letter W:

I've used Wisteria, a window and a butterfly. The colours on this picture are a bit odd. Cannot seem to get a good picture however I try. It looked like wisteria when I made it.

I've also used a snippet or two and a die I won in Pixie's Snippets Playground so I'm jumping over to eat ice creams in the shade and maybe paddle in the duck pond.

Christmas greenery

Hello lovely crafters,

We are about as far away from Christmas as we can get and here in the UK it's hot hot hot! Why not cool yourself down by thinking of snow and making a Christmas Card?
Myrna has some lovely challenges for us this month at 52CCT and here is the first:

I chose to turn the sketch on it's head, you can use it however you like as long as we can see the basic sketch.
With different light so you can see the sparkle:

I went back to my first love and stamped this using tiny stamps. Lots of fun.
Thanks for visiting. Enjoy your day! x
