Stash Sketch

 Hello lovely crafters!

This week at Shopping our Stash we have a sketch challenge. I have mixed feelings about sketches and also about my card.

Sketches usually imply layers, which I'm not very good at but they don't have to. I thought outside the box and added a cut out for part of mine.

I thought I'd better get a few Christmas cards done otherwise I'll get to Autumn and have nothing.

So I stamped, embossed and water coloured the bauble twice. Luckily it's a symmetrical stamp so I could glue them back to back with some gold thread between.

I've used one of my oldest stamps - the bauble, a newer one but much neglected woodgrain stamp from Inky Doodles and some holly stamps which I've probably never used. Naughty.

If you'd like to  join in with our challenge. You have two weeks as usual.

Thanks for visiting, enjoy your day. x

Playing with die cuts.

Hello lovely crafters!

Here is a card I made in another attempt to make a man's card. No idea if a man would like it. The man in the house is not much help but did say he liked it.

The idea was to make it look as though the shape had real depth so I cut out a square in the card front and added two die cuts to the inside.

I hope you get the idea. The top ones also have snippets of white card glued on the backs of the points to hold them up and in line, if you see what I mean.
So I've used one square snippet of green plus some white. I need to make a whole lot more of these to get through the mountain.
Hopping over to the Snippets Playground as I'm quite pleased how this turned out. I might add something else to it if I knew what.

Thanks for visiting, enjoy your day. x

A rainbow of flowers

 Hello lovely crafters

Here is a rainbow card for our latest challenge at Shopping our Stash

Somewhere over the Rainbow - Challenge 492

I chose to use rainbow colours for these flowers. Red, orange, yellow, green, blue and violet.

I added some dimension to the flowers but using a ball tool on the back to shape them and then gluing a small square of card in the middle to raise them slightly. Not too much though and I think it will still fit through the post.

I added a few little insects which are Woodward stamps and the flowers are Lisa Horton.

We'd love you to play along with us with rainbows.

Thanks for visiting, enjoy your day.

This is me

 Hello lovely crafters

I had some strips of design paper which I was determined to use on a snippets card. Turns out that's not my style! I tried but it's not me so I went back to the white snippets and cut out flowers, just for a change. Coloured with the huge set of pens I decided I needed last year. 😆 I love colouring but only in a basic way, though I did manage a little colour blending.

I added a couple of bees which are new stamps I got from a Crafts Beautiful magazine. The rest are old stamps from a Christmas set. Showing if you use different colours it's summery instead.

I swithered about where to put the greeting and left it off in the end. Where would you put it?

I made this a couple of weeks ago and am just getting round to sharing it. I'm hopping off to the Snippets Playground. No photo of the snippets. They were just white strips.

Thanks for visiting, enjoy your day x
