Pink Ink

 Hello lovely crafters!

In celebration of 10 years of Di running the Snippets Playground and also our beautiful new look, here is a special snippets card. Pink, of course.

I made this with the first stamp I ever won in the playground. It's a Woodware bubble flower stamp. I've used it often and still love it.

I stamped and embossed in clear on a snippet of watercolour paper. Spritzed and dabbed pink ink over it and let it spread around. Then, of course as usual, I ironed off the embossing. I added a little Wink of Stella over the flowers.

I used the greeting stamp which comes in the set as it is perfect for the new playground. - 'Where the sun is always shining!'
Everything is snippets and the base card is a piece I've had for YEARS and found in my January sort out. Win.
Challenges run fortnightly and there are a few more days of this one to help us tackle our snippet mountain.

Cornflower blue

 Hello lovely crafters!

We're starting a new challenge at Shopping our Stash:

Across the border - use any border die or punch. Dig into your stash and see what you have.

I've used a pretty lace effect edger die diagonally across the card.

I started this by using my Inky Doodles stamps to create the pattern on the paper at the bottom of the card. The stamps are Print Backgrounds 2 and layer up to create many different patterns. I've had them for a few years and still love them. They should definitely come out more often.
I stamped a green and pink grid layer. The pink is faint and doesn't show up here. I added a blue Card-io flower in the squares.

The  big flower is Little Claire stamped, embossed in silver, inked and cut out twice. With inked leaves from a different nameless die set.

Love this Cornflower blue colour.

I hope you will search out your dies and punches and join in with us this fortnight.

Thank you for visiting, enjoy your day. x

Rainbow stockings

Hello lovely Crafters,

I'm joining in with a new-to-me Christmas challenge:

My first thought was these Inky Doodles stockings. I stamped them out and coloured in rainbow order.  Got in a muddle so I have some spares! Lol.
The background wood stamp is also Inky Doodles.
Die cut ivy from a scrap of inked paper and then I found some silver shapes in one of my many boxes with little bits and bobs in so they went on too.

I'm progressing through my January sort out and finding all sorts of things and stamps I'd forgotten I'd got. I know I'm not alone.

Thank you for visiting, enjoy your day. x

Watercolour Butterfly

 Hello lovely crafters.

I made this card for a friend who has had horrible surgery, and though I have posted it off today, I confess I really wanted to keep it!

I stamped the butterfly and embossed in clear. The after spritzing the paper (very) loosely dabbed orange at the bottom and yellow at the top with a brush.

When it was dry, I ironed off the embossing. (Hot iron, with card placed between sheets of clean paper). An then added a tiny amount more stamping - a couple of swirls and some crackle.

A Paper Smooches sentiment it's off in the post.

Shopping our Stash #461 - Something beginning with the letter S

Hello lovely crafters

Happy New Year and I hope you all had a lovely Christmas. That's all that over for another year.

I'm pleased and excited to say that I have joined the DT at Shopping our Stash. There are different challenges every two weeks with the focus on using what you already have in your stash - old favourites or things you had forgotten you had. Which is perfect as we consider the state of our planet and how we should consume less.

The first challenge of 2022 is: Something Beginning with S - hence the Snowdrops!

Other stamps I found but didn't use this time- skates, scissors, stitching, sunflowers... We look forward to seeing what everyone chooses. Hop over to the blog to find plenty of inspiration.

I was sure I wanted to use this Snowdrop stamp to make a card for my Mum's January birthday.  They are such determined little flowers and hopefully will be pushing their way through soon.

I tried a few inky ideas which didn't really work as I wanted the Snowdrop flowers to be properly white, not splashed with other colours. In the end I just stamped and painted them with watery inks.

I chose this sentiment as you can be sure she will have something flowering in her garden every day of the year. Then finally I added 3 tiny birds around it.
Snowdrops, greeting and the tiny bird from an old Creative Stamping set plus a bird from another set.

The frame is a snippet of cream paper . You don't need every colour of paper. (No you don't).  I just coloured round the edge with a Pro marker.

I'm also adding this to the January NBUS challenge as I have never used this sentiment before in spite of having had the set for several years! Shocking.

Thank you for visiting, enjoy your day. x
