I don't often use papers though I have a small stash. I get them out and admire and stroke them but am not always sure what to do with them. This sketch though was perfect for papers, I could see that and I needed a birthday card for a man.
Now I do hoard most offcuts and snippets. I'm not quite as obsessive as some people (you know who you are!), I tend to tuck all the bits into the paper pad they came from but sometimes they just pile up in a heap. Last week I found another box of bits I'd forgotten I had.
This time I used them straight away. I needed a quick card for Valentines and had been uninspired up 'til then.
I'd never done Iris folding before but managed to find a pattern on the internet, of course, and quickly cut my snippets up into strips. It made up swiftly and I am quite pleased with it. I'm not so keen on the paper used at the top and the pattern doesn't quite match which is annoying but I didn't feel like unsticking it all.
My husband was impressed by the pattern but more impressed that I had used up all the scraps that he has seen me cutting up the day before!
So I'm skipping over to Pixie's Snippets playground with this one. It was too cold last week and I didn't go out to play.
All made from snippets, including the front, and mounted on a card base from a previous disaster. See I am a hoarder.

Know what you mean about hoarding papers just to stroke! Glad you used some up to join in with CC&S. Thanks for playing.
ReplyDeleteThat sketch is brilliant and I love the card you made using it. Also LOVING the iris folded heart card. So vibrant and neat.

Super job with both cards! Your iris folding turned out nicely! On the sketch card, I like how you've trimmed each triangle with the other designer paper. It's a great masculine card. Thanks for joining us at CC&S! :)
