Christmas Card Throwdown = October Theme = Winter sports

Welcome to our new challenge at Christmas Card Throwdown. This is the time of year when we pretend Christmas is not coming but we know it will so lets get ahead with our cards and save the last minute panic.
This time our challenge is:
I made an inky background by stamping the snowflakes and clear embossing then inking over. Then I added the skates and greenery.

The first time I went ice skating I imagined myself sailing round in beautiful skates like these. ( Noel Steatfield was somewhat to blame - 'White Boots' ). Not only was I given ugly brown skates but they gave me horrendous blisters. I never took to ice skating.
Maybe you have a better experience. We look forward to seeing your winter sport cards over the next two weeks.
Thanks for visiting. Enjoy Your Day.

  2. Sorry, I made several spelling mistakes and it niggles me so I deleted the comment! Anyway, I did say...

Great take on the challenge and still keeping it Christmassy, I love the subtle glitter on the greenery, gives it a real wintery feel. Films have a great way of making ice skating look all romantic at Christmas but in reality - its so not lol x

  5. I love the look you've achieved with your card Alison. It has a traditional look with the skates and then your beautiful background gives it a very modern feel - great work! Hugs, Gill xx

  6. Only ever been ice skating once. Once was a time too many. Having negotiated around the edge of the rink copiously holding onto the side edge I was persuaded to go it alone and skate off on my own across the rink. Only trouble was I hadn't a clue how to stop and just yelled get out of the way to anyone in my path until I met my friend coming from the other direction doing the same thing. We collided in a heap of arms and legs and skate blades within inches of our noses. Yep I remember it well . Thanks for the memory with your delightful card. Hugs Mrs A.
