When in doubt use kraft!

Hello lovely crafters.

I managed to carve out a bit of time to make some cards this week. I also wanted to join in with the Twofer Challenge - Leaves.

My cards look rather shabby compared to the amazing creations already posted but here they are anyway.
The first is for a dear friend who has had to move away to live in a care home. Sadly for me, she has moved near to her daughter several hours away from here. She didn't want to go and I hope she is settling in ok. I've written and old fashioned letter to go with the card.

I stamped the leaves and added brushos, mixing the colours as I went. I wanted to it be cheerful so I used plenty of green and not too much brown.
I love this look and want to try flowers with the same idea.

The second had me stumped for a bit. I wanted 'Thinking of You' for stock and eventually remembered that kraft always looks good.

So I just used gold embossing and kept it very simple (and quick).
The stamp set used is a Hobby Art one.

Thanks for visiting, Enjoy your Day. x

  1. Two super cards Alison. I especially like the brusho one...fabulous colours. A great way to use the same set of stamps differently. x

  2. Love how you've used the same stamp and created two different and wonderful cards. The kraft card is so elegant and your other card is full of fabulous colour and loving the effects of the powders. Your dear friend will truly appreciate your card and it is so very thoughtful of you to make her a very special card x.

  4. Now wait a minute, young lady! Your cards do NOT look shabby! They are everything I'm looking for with the Twofer concept! Your first colorful autumn design is bound to cheer up your friend and having it as a table decoration in her new place will remind her of all the memories you two have made over the years. I hope she settles in well! And as someone who loves simple, I think your kraft design is beautifully CASlicious with your trio of gold-embossed leaves and sheer yellow ribbon! Thank you so much for playing in Twofer Card Challenge #9! Hugs, Darnell

  5. I love how you used those Brushos for your first card - I've never used them this way and I'm excited to try it. Usually I just sprinkle, spritz and call it a background - lol! You are right with the second card, kraft is always in style, and especially with your embossed fall leaves! Thanks for joining in the fun with us at the Twofer Card Challenge!

  6. What a delicious scattering of variegated leaves on your first card, Alison ... the colours are warm and cosy like a sweet hug in card form ... I'm certain your friend will so enjoy it. The gold embossing on the kraft is so stylish ... and so wonderfully CAS ... just up my street! Thanks so much for playing along with us at Twofer! Anita :)
