This month at CAS Mix Up Challenge it's:
It's also their 3rd Birthday. Happy Birthday!
This is not a technique I'd tried but I wanted to have a go.
It's not to difficult to get a good effect. If I'd planned the card before I started I'd have made the butterfly more colourful but I often don't know where I'm going with a card.
I die cut the first butterfly, coloured in the cut areas and then filled with glossy accents. I was rather heavy handed with it but I'll know next time! A second butterfly was glued on top which covers any overflow. Then I added a few more white ones for the finished look.
So I've used die cutting, stamping and gems as well as the faux stained glass.
I will have to have another go at this, I think it could be lots of fun.
Thanks for visiting, enjoy your day. x
Brilliant card! What a gorgeous blue butterfly. Not a technique I have had ago at...more on the to do/must try list!
ReplyDeleteYour butterfly card is gorgeous Alison. I love that you've covered that background with white butterflies and then have a special one that is faux stained glass. Great design! Thanks for sharing with us at CAS Mix Up!
ReplyDeleteA lovely butterfly card Alison, your faux stained glass one pops off the front. Great job.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful faux stained glass butterfly card, Alison! You caught the pretty shine so well in the photo. The white-on-white butterfly background adds so much interest and still maintains the card as CAS. Thanks so much for joining us at CAS Mix UP!

ReplyDeleteHi Alison, awesome card, loved how you did the technique and chuckled about those deadlines, ongoing issue with me, hope you made it xoxo
ReplyDeleteI love your sparkly butterfly. This is also a technique I haven't tried yet but it does look very effective. Finally getting somewhere with our no internet as the service provider has agreed to send an engineer out to see what is going on. Hope he can get it sorted as Has been an ongoing problem for us for the past 4 yrs. hugs Mrs A.
