Embossed Poinsettia

We've been roasting here in the UK this week and the last thing on our minds is Christmas. However 52CCT does not stand still, even for a heat wave, so we have a new challenge for you:

I almost took a picture of my ribbon box but really I'm too embarrassed to show it. It's a jumble of knotted up ribbons, threads and all sorts and the lid hardly goes on, it has to be forced and sat on. Most of them are saved from clothes, wrapping and packaging. I'm sure your ribbon stash is much better organised and looked after so have a look and see what you can come up with for this challenge.

This card is made with gold embossing and then coloured with Brushos. There is a little frill of die cut vellum, a strip of papery gold ribbon and then organza ribbon over the top.

I stamped a sentiment meaning to cut it out and add it but when I came back to look at the card, I couldn't bear to cover any of the base. I should plan ahead more.
We hope you find time to join in with the fun, who doesn't love ribbon?

Thanks for visiting, enjoy your day. x

Hooray I'm in time to enter Scrappy Mo's Rudolf Days Challenge for this month.
I'm also popping into Pixie's Snippets Playground as I've used scraps and snippets of card and ribbon. Dip in the duck pond anyone?

  2. Hi Alison,
    Happy Rudolf Days.
oh I love this beautiful and stunning card.
The colours created by the Brushos is very wonderful against the gold heat embossing.
I can well see why you diddn't want to cover it up with sentiment.
Such a clever use of snippets also.
Thank you for joining the Rudolf Challenge.
Lots of crafty love. Jenny L. DT

  4. Gorgeous! What a stunning card. It does not need a sentiment as it is perfect as is. The inky colour is wonderful with that embossed image and your beautiful design!

Thanks for taking part in the July Rudolph Days Challenge.

  5. Gorgeous card Alison - and I did giggle about you needing to sit on your ribbon box to close the lid! I love the stamping with that beautiful ribbon - and no sentiment needed!

Sorry I'm late commenting - blame Dudley Dog :)
