These cards are made for:
I used a die I bought once on without much thought and have only used a few times. So I've used it here as a die and also as a stencil.
First card:
I inked with teal and a little purple and then spritzed with water to give a little texture. I then die cut the circles twice and captured all the little bits in two small dishes.
Swapping them over I replaced the die cuts in the opposite positions and popped all the little bits back in. Not putting them back where they came from adds to the subtle colour variation. (Oh, I also added an extra die cut on the back to raise them slightly).
I made it with the die cuts horizontal but then changed my mind. Then I remembered this word stamp which I think fits well.
Husband and son both have birthdays coming up so this might work for either one.
Second card:
This inking is green! I hope you can see it on your screen.
I used a die cut as a stencil with green ink. Then stamped little flowers, in purple, in each of the circles using an old Stamplorations set. I stamped one more and cut it out and glossied it up. Stamping the words from the same stamp set I added the final flower just above.
Thank you for visiting, enjoy your day. x
Lovely Alison!
ReplyDeleteTwo beautiful cards Alison! Your 1st card sounds like a lot of work but turned out so pretty...love the colors and dimension! Your thank you card is also very nice and great idea t use the die cut as a stencil! Thanks so much for sharing with us at The Twofer Challenge this month!! Hope your weather dries out soon too! :0)
ReplyDeleteI love the way the circles pop out of your monochromatic birthday card they add a nice dimension. Your Thank you card is clean and simply to the point, fresh in the black and white. Thanks fo muchfor playing along with us at Twofer Card Challenge #28.
ReplyDeleteI love your two different designs, Val! It's so cool how you added the inner circles back into the die randomly to make that stunning background even more stunning! That is a real slap-my-forehead moment for me and I hope to remember it next time I replace die cut pieces! Thank you! And I think your second thank you design is also fantastic and it definitely shows green on my monitor! Thank you so much for playing in Twofer Card Challenge #28! Keep well! Hugs, Darnell
ReplyDeleteTwo awesome cards with your circle dies. Particularly love that teal, purple one. Thanks for joining in at Twofer this month. Linda GD.
ReplyDeleteHi Alison! Hope you are doing well. Nice job on both cards! Love the inking, I sometimes have bad luck photographing blues and greens. It's annoying! Like glitter never showing up. Enjoy your weekend! XOX
