Flowers are on the way

 Hello lovely crafters!

I finally bought an Altenew flower stamps set. I can't tell you how long I spent choosing which one to get. They are all lovely and I'm sure you all have lots of them. I'm not sure why I dithered around so long.

When I tried them out but wasn't at all happy with my results. Some things take practice. Determined to make something with them, I simplified and here is the result.

I stamped the flower and coloured with inks and water. Less is more I found, when colouring. I then did the same with the leaves. The little bough is stamped onto the card directly.
A tiny bit of stencilling on the background, a greeting and some black stickles in the centre finished it off.
I used Kraft card as the base is creamy so it went well.
Now I need to go and do more practicing. Just gazing at other peoples cards doesn't work, I have found.

I'm linking this to

I've used bright pink and green which seem to be my go-to colours now.

Obviously I've used NBUS so I should pop over to

Thanks for visiting, enjoy your day. xxx

  2. A beautiful result and the touch of stencilling in the background is just right. Can't beat a bit of practice and of course it is fun anyway and keeps us out of mischief 😉

  3. Hi Alison! Got caught up here enjoying your lovely makes. I think you did a bang-up job with the Altenews. I only have 2 sets, one is the layered flowers and I'm skeered of them. The other are some embroidered-look blossoms and I actually like those as I've not seen anyone else has that kind. The layered ones make feel like I need a degree in them. LOL xoxo

  4. When you have a bloom that big, simple is best and I love the result, Alison! It really shows off your pretty coloring and that bit of stenciling adds just the right touch! Thank you for sharing with everyone at NBUS! Take care! (Sorry I called you Val last time. I don't know why I get you two gals mixed up!🙃) Hugs, Darnell
