Butterfly birthday

 Hello lovely crafters

I spent yesterday morning dividing dahlia tubers and then treated myself to some crafty time in the afternoon.

I started this card with some stencilling. The colour shows what happens if you try pink and blue stencilling and then revert to pink without washing your stencil. A sort of mauve colour. 😂
Then I delved in my stash and found these leaves already coloured (with a brayer in a gel plate session I think) and a flower and butterfly stamped but not coloured.
I've used pencils blended with baby oil for both.
I finally added a few water drop embellishments.
My thoughts on those, having ordered them and waited ages from them to arrive is that I love them but probably shouldn't be adding little bits of plastic to my cards. I will use them as I have them but won't be using glitter any more and will have to consider what else I use.

I'm entering this into the current Butterfly challenge
I've used pale blue and pale pink pencil crayons though in places they have blended together. Does that count or will I be sent out of the butterfly garden?
And a butterfly of course. I didn't have time for fancy folds this time, unfortunately.

I'll also hop over to Pixie's Snippets Playground. The sentiment was stamped on a scrap, I think the pink backing was also a snippet and all the flowers and leaves were in a heap of 'stuff' to use up.
There are so many good ideas there I must have a longer look and a blog hop.

Thanks for visiting, enjoy your day. x

Inside out butterfly

 Hello lovely crafters.

I see a pattern emerging here. I see the butterfly challenge. I start a card. It gets complicated and fiddly and hidden under a pile of c**p stuff, I realise I'm running out of time, I finish the card.

Here is my latest butterfly offering.

Mrs A has challenged us to make a Inside out Card. As usual she gives clear instructions.

As usual I tried to overcomplicate things but here is the inside of the finished card. As you open it the butterfly pops up.

It really is a simple technique which gives a great effect. I've left it blank for now but may add a greeting or even decorate the back as well.

I've used Inking on the stencilled background and coloured all the flowers and leaves with markers.
Iceberg for the background
Inchworm for the leaves and stems
Ivory card for the base.
Plus butterfly and inside out card, of course.
Thanks Mrs A for all the fun ideas.

I'm also hopping over to Pixie's Snippets Playground as everything is made from snippets.
