There is a lovely challenge at Merry Monday this week. Woodgrain, Kraft and white.
Here is my card:
I used kraft card and dragged a Latte ink pad over it to create the wood grain. Then I used a stamp I've never used before to make the heart shaped hanger. It's not the kind of stamp I usually use but it looks good here embossed in white. (Which I managed without too much mess!)
I cut it out bigger than the stamp and folded the edges back to give it more dimension, using a ball tool to encourage it. I glued a couple of layers of scraps behind it too to make it a little thicker. I think it will still be flat enough to go in the post.
Then I left it well alone. No more time today anyway, as the sun was shining and it was WARM so I had to be outside.
Thanks for visiting. x
Oh your heart medallion is awesome, love all the little details in it! Thank you for playing along at Merry Monday!
ReplyDeleteHi Alison, What a beautiful card this is. The heart stamp is so pretty and looks lovely embossed in white. I love the way you've put the raffia on the top and the woodgrain background effect looks fantastic. Barbxx
ReplyDeleteYou did a great job creating your woodgrain! I also really like the way you did your heart and it looks nice on the woodgrain.

ReplyDeleteThis is so lovely and perfect for the challenge. Love that you made your own woodgrain...looks so realistic. The embossed heart fairly pops off the card thanks to your clever manipulation of it.
ReplyDeleteLove how you created the background! Gorgeous card!! Thanks so much for playing along with us at Merry Monday.
